The name Aqayen is inspired by “aqayn,” a word from the Amazigh language of Morocco meaning beads or a shell necklace. For us, the name carries the beauty of adornment, heritage, and the jewelry traditions that have long been part of Moroccan culture.
As a founder originally from Morocco, I created Aqayen to bring the feeling of Moroccan heritage into a modern jewelry collection. The brand is inspired by the symbols, craftsmanship, warmth, and storytelling found in Moroccan culture, reimagined as refined pieces that feel timeless, meaningful, and easy to wear every day.
My personal relationship with jewelry also shaped Aqayen. As someone with metal allergies, I understand how frustrating it can be to love a piece but not be able to wear it comfortably.
